Full membership is open to all medical
secretaries – including those working in general,
hospital, academic and private practice; and those working
in occupational, community or commercial (pharmaceutical)
practice.

Fellowship is awarded
to those who have been full members for five years. |

Retired membership
is available for those who have retired from active work at
a reduced subscription. |

 |
Affiliate membership
is open to doctors, managers, administrators and others who
support the aims of the Society. |

Honorary membership
may be conferred on those who have demonstrated significant
support for the Society. |

Membership is not restricted to medical
secretaries in Britain. The BSMS encourages medical secretaries
in all countries to become members, although the benefits of membership
may be reduced. One aim of these web pages is to allow medical
secretaries to set up local and international discussions through
the chat room and within the Journal of Medical Secretaries.
