Networking is an essential part of being a medical secretary – it’s good to know that others have the same problems as you!

How to network? Around the countryside medical secretaries are organising local meetings where medical secretaries can meet, talk, hear talks and generally get to know their colleagues. If you work in a large hospital you could be in isolation from your colleagues.

Local meetings are just that – local to your area.
Regional meetings are just that – regional and will involve many more secretaries.

To find out more about local meetings please e-mail Anna Paton
Are you prepared to hold a local meeting – if so you can still e-mail Anna Paton who will help you to organise your meeting.

Without networking life can get very lonely as a medical secretary. Medical secretaries know how to have fun – keep your eyes on our web for meetings. We would like to help and encourage members of BSMS to hold meetings within their area, bringing medical secretaries together to discuss hot topics of the day which can be anything from pay scales to Feng Shui! Organizing a meeting can be daunting, but there is nothing more satisfying than seeing medical secretaries going away, having met colleagues, made friends and feeling more informed and confident about their job.

So why not attend a meeting which one of your colleagues has organized for you?
